Sumter County Press Release:

Speaking of reading books, this Press Release includes info about obtaining a Sumter County Library Card via online form, if you don't already have one. You can then use it for Library online services. Might be nice as we stay at home.
How To Make No-Sew Face Mask
Stay in your home except essential outside trips. If you must go out, wear a mask. This link leads to a YouTube instructional video on how to make a material face mask. Start from a square hankerchief size piece of material. Note: Once you follow this link, click the 'Skip Ad' sign at lower right to move on to the YouTube video more quickly) https://m.youtube.com/watch?list=RDCMUCtQVy5IY7TjSBMo-lGigfnQ&v=1r2C1zGUHbU&feature=emb_rel_end Additional thought: if you use this type of material mask it could start hurting with rubber bands behind your ears. Instead try wearing a cap & put a button on the cap on each side & put the rubber band around the button rather than around your ear. |
I HAVE CORONAVIRUS
I have tested positive for COVID-19:
• Immediately notify people you have had close contact with while ill. Tell them to follow guidance BELOW
• Take care of yourself. Follow CDC guidance for self care like staying home, keeping in touch with your doctor, and staying away from others.
• Call your local county health department or the COVID-19 Call Center for questions and additional guidance.1 (866)779-6121
I KNOW SOMEONE THAT HAS CORONAVIRUS
I had close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19:
• Stay home for 14 days as isolated as possible (starting the day you were exposed)
• Keep 6 feet or more from others at all times (including others in your home).
• Monitor your health for symptoms.(fever, cough, shortness of breath)
• If you think you are sick, follow guidelines from the CDC website.

Executive Golf Modifications (per e-Notification dated 4/5/2020)
Effective April 8th, there will be no exchange of cash for payment of a daily trail fee or guest rate to play golf. Trail Fees must be paid in advance or via phone with a credit card. To accommodate residents and make this transition as seamless as possible, the following updates will take effect on April 8th:
In addition to the changes in trail fee transactions, guests will temporarily not be permitted to golf. Eliminating all money transactions at the Starter Shacks provide for enhanced protection as we all make extra allowances to fight the spread of COVID-19. Please note that this will not impact the ability for residents (owners, non-owners or renters) to play. This only impacts those guests with a Guest ID that normally pay a guest rate to play golf.

Schedule Updates & Closings - Executive Golf Courses
Why it is ok to play golf right now?
(Go by these and The Villages probably won't cancel golf, too)

To accommodate residents and make this transition as seamless as possible, the following updates will take effect on April 8th:
- A new temporary monthly flat fee of $ 20.00 per month for Trail Fees will be created to accommodate what are now daily cash trail fee golfers. This is in addition to the 6-month and yearly trail fees.
- Customer Service and Recreation Administration will be taking calls and payment from residents Monday – Friday from 6:45am to 5pm and Saturday & Sunday from 6:45am – 4:00pm.
- The Starter Shacks will provide a phone number to those residents wishing to purchase the monthly trail fee. In addition, Customer Service will continue to be available via email at CustomerService@districtgov.org and will contact residents via telephone to pay annual trail fees.
- Tee time hours are being modified to reflect the current available staffing levels of Executive Golf Operations. Hours will be from 7am through 4pm.
- A golfer will still have the ability to play by walking with a pull cart or carrying their own bag.
- Only single riders in golf cars will be permitted unless the individuals are cohabitating in the same home.
In addition to the changes in trail fee transactions, guests will temporarily not be permitted to golf. Why it is ok to play golf right now?
(Go by these and The Villages probably won't cancel golf, too)
- One to a cart unless the two currently cohabitate the same home
- 90 % rules 100% of the time that you are on the fairway - save the course with all the extra carts out there
- Never congregate in groups of people less than 6' from each other while waiting for your tee time or after your game
- On the Executive Courses, The Villages put styrofoam around the hole so you don't have to 1) pick your ball out of the hole 2) you don't have to touch the pin at all during play. They may have done that on the Championship Courses (not sure)
