Games with friends (or family) via Internet Susan and Ben Riding (shown in the photo below) played a game of 'Teed Off' (much like 'Aggrevation') with friends, Jerri & Rick Shearer last night. Hope we weren't too loud :)... We played across the Internet using Facebook Messenger Video Chat. It worked! We put our PC high at a raised position on the table and pointed the monitor camera down onto the game on the table (and to Susan & Ben). It was a lot of fun. We are missing having great laughs together during this social distancing. Other games that might work: Sequence, ??? (still thinking what else...) Some games are just not conducive for Internet play. |

Bocce At The Villages
A District Bulletin showed 'All outdoor court areas and outdoor equipment are closed.' We called Community Watch Dispatch (352 753-0550), and confirmed if you have your own Bocce Ball set, you can play on a Villages Bocce court. The rule saying the courts are closed refers to Pickle Ball and Tennis courts.
By the way, you can buy a Bocce set on amazon.com. If you purchase a set of Bocce Balls & go to play Bocce, I suggest these RIDING CORONA BOCCE RULES. After Corona, we plan to play with our own Bocce set in our back or side yard or when we go camping.
********** RIDING CORONA BOCCE RULES **********
1. Before the start, wash hands then clean-wipe all balls to error to the extra careful.
2. Take paper & pencil to keep score, rather than the public scoreboard.
3. Wear a mask AND always put at least 6' between players not of same household.
4. If you take your Golf cart to the Bocce court, ride one to a golf cart unless two are cohabitating the same home. The Bocce set is pretty heavy to be able to walk with it to the court.
5. Each end of the court must be 1 person OR 2 people cohabitating the same one home.
6. CRITICAL - Because we're using the same Bocce balls - NO touching of face during the game(s) nor on the way home until # 7 (next)
7. CRITICAL - Thoroughly wash hands when return home.
8. Only one person does the measurement on a close call unless the balls are clearly more than 6' apart, then one person can be at each end of the measuring tool. If you can't reach and you're within 6', flip a coin for what ball is closer.
9. CRITICAL - ALWAYS sneeze or cough into your elbow or hankey. A big open sneeze or cough negates the 6' rule (even with a mask). The game is over immediately and the sneezer's team automatically loses the game. Go directly home & do not pass 'GO' and do #7 above! You didn't mean to do it but it changes everything.
10. Have fun!!!
