CPR, AED and Heimlich Maneuver Training / Refresher Course
Every 2nd Friday at 1:00 pm If you missed the CERT training on CPR, AED (Automatic External Defibrillation) and Heimlich Maneuver or you want to take a refresher course, you can just show up on any 2nd Friday at 1 pm in the Colony Cottage Rec Center. Attendance limit: 30. Contact: Wayne W. Ward (352) 674-2948 Business or (352) 391-9102 Home or email: villagescert@aol.com to be sure you have a spot in the class. NOTE: Even if you don't initiate CPR, the person initiating CPR definitely needs others' help until the Fire Dept. gets there. Because it is so tiring, people applying CPR should only do it for 1-2 minutes before someone else must take over. Mouth-to-mouth artificial respiration is no longer a part of CPR. AED (Automatic External Defibrillation) machines in The Village of Palo Alto If anyone would like to lead a project to purchase AED (Automatic External Defibrillation) machines for multiple locations within the Village of Palo Alto, please Contact: Wayne W. Ward (352) 674-2948 Business or (352) 391-9102 Home or email: villagescert@aol.com for more information. In the event of an emergency
In the event of an emergency be sure to immediately call 9-1-1. When you call 911, answer the dispatcher’s questions (it will not delay the response!), do not hang up until either the 911 dispatcher or on-scene police or fire personnel direct you to hang up. If you call from a cell phone, it takes 5-6 rings before you call is answered…do not hang up…wait until answered and then tell them your location. Community Watch is a non-emergency service whose primary function is to observe and report. Source: Welcome Wednesday - May 2017 Severe Weather and Other Disaster Response Activities
