Caravan Road Trip (CRT) - Palo Alto Club
Guidelines

Your loyal Board has initiated Palo Alto Club's Caravan Road Trip (CRT) starting January 27, 2018. The plan is that there will be a monthly offering of a monthly road trip to something fun. As you see below, CRTs will vary greatly and may or may not include a meal.
Registration:  AS YOU SEE AN EVENT THAT INTERESTS YOU, send your email request to register you for the event (even 10 months out).
Payment:        You can pay admission fee or dinner deposit, when applicable, by the pay by date closer to the event.
As you can see, the destination will vary every month. We hope you like them!!
We welcome your suggestions. Email future CRT suggestions to CRT Committee at crt@srwr.com
NOTE:  When Contact Name not given yet, it is still
'Tentative' and subject to change or cancellation. You can still register via email.

 Signups / Communications / Fees

As soon as you see an offering you like, sign-up via email:   CRT Committee   at   crt@srwr.com

The CRT Committee will be in touch with you confirming receipt of your email and with other details known at that point. Signups are needed to include your email address and cell phone number for our updates and communications.

Emails are needed for these communications:
Email #1 Confirmation:  Once you’ve emailed your request to register for a particular event we will email confirmation we got
                 your request, normally
within three days. Let the event leader.
Email #2 Confirmation: This second email will include additional details, if any, and will provide email addresses and cell phones for
your fellow participants. Use them to:

                1) Set up carpools ahead of time
                2) Communicate with one another on the day of the event.

When admission fees are involved, you will be given payment instructions (name to write the check to and for what amount per person). When possible, we will attempt to get a discounted group rate. Once paid, admission fees are non-refundable, like Villages paid events. Events involving breakfast, lunch or dinner will require a $5 deposit that will be refunded the day of the event, if you come, just like Palo Alto Club’s Dining Out. We will provide signup and pay deadlines.

Day of the event - we will provide a map of the suggested driving route although You are welcome to follow the suggested route or take the route of your choice. Though it is a caravan trip, it would normally be pretty impossible to stay together all the way to our destination and, of course, best not to follow closely to one another. As we get separated, we will meet at the event. Hopefully using the suggested route will help us get there close to the same time.

Wait List: If the event has a limited number of participants and has reached that limit, express interest that you’d like to be added to a wait list.

If you do not receive your confirmation email #1 or #2 described below, please contact the Event Leader or Susan Riding, Committee Chair (352 750-3399).

Details per Event

You will receive details of the events (or changes to events) via Bill’s email newsletters and on our Palo Alto Club Calendar page. Further details will be provided to each participant or participant couple via email.

Meeting & Departure Time

Place:       Tierra Del Sol Rec Center parking lot (unless otherwise specified)
Carpools:  One nice benefit to these events is to help people go to new places and experience new things
to do even when they no longer can or want to drive. Put your carpool together ahead of going
to the meeting place. When it is preferable or there’s a need to drive on your own, that is fine.

Who Can Take Part

Palo Alto Club Residents and their guests can take part in the CRTs. All must be Villages Residents or have a valid Villages Guest Pass(es).
